Swim Rotorua Appoint New Head Coach

Swim Rotorua New Head Coach

Swim Rotorua Board has great pleasure in announcing that our top candidate, Aidan Withington has accepted the position as Swim Rotorua Head Coach.

You may recall Aidan as he was here a few weeks ago. He came for a visit recently with Jess and baby, Gabriel. It was important to ensure that he was the right fit for us, and we were for him and his family. As usual our Swim Rotorua athletes and whānau welcomed them and showed our Club spirit.

Aidan will come to us from Capital Swim Club in Wellington where he has coached since June 2016. He has 15 years’ experience after coaching both in Southland and Central Hawkes Bay. At Capital Aidan has been coaching approximately 200 swimmers from juniors through to age group squads including national title holders. In partnership with Gary Hollywood he has increased swimmer numbers at the club. He has worked with paralympian Mary Fisher.

We are thrilled Aidan will be joining us and believe it is a real coup for our Club to have secured one of the top young coaches in the country. Aidan arrives with Jess and Garbriel the first week in January and will hit the pool deck with plenty of ideas and energy from the 8th January 2020.
