Swimming NZ SC Champs

Day One Session One is now completed. Tara Chemis was first up in the 200 Freestyle and although not a PB on paper it was a Short Course personal best time by 4 seconds. Rachel Mead also swimming the 200 Free swam right on her best. Jack Weston swam his signature event the 100 Breaststroke and was 3rd in the 16 years age group and right on his personal best time. To complete the morning session Paddy Baylis and David Boles took the blocks for the 400 IM. Paddy Baylis secured a 8th place in the 14 years age group with a 6 second PB while David was 12th with a 2 second PB.

 

Jack Weston has advanced through to the final in the 15/16 years 100 breaststroke in tonights session and Paddy Baylis in the 400 IM for the 13/14 years 400 Individual Medley.

 

Day One is now complete and our finalists Jack Weston and Paddy Baylis did Swim Rotorua proud. Jack (16) secured a third place in the 15-16 years age group 100 Breaststroke final. Paddy (14) swam another outstanding 400IM lowering his personal best time by another 2 seconds and secured 7th place in the 13-14 years final. 
Tomorrow the team is back pooldeck with Paddy and David contesting the 200 IM and 100 back. Jack will compete in the 200 IM and 50 Breast and Rachel Mead in the 400 Freestyle

 

Day Two, David Boles (14) and Paddy Baylis (14) both swam the 200IM in personal best times. And next David and Paddy were up for the 100 Backstroke. David Boles achieved another personal best time and Paddy was just slightly outside his best. Jack Weston competed in the 16 years 50 Breaststroke securing a 6th place just outside his best. And to conclude the morning session of Day 2 Rachel Mead (16) swam a 4:43.17 a fraction off her personal best time. 

Session Two Jack Weston was our solo representative in the finals session contesting the final of the 16-17 year 50 Breaststroke. He improved on his morning swim and secured 6th place.

 

Day Three The morning session started off with Jack Weston in the 100 IM. Jack was also on the blocks later in the morning to race the 200 Breaststroke. David Boles and Paddy Baylis ended the morning session with some impressive times in the 400 Freestyle. Paddy swam to a 10th ranking in the 14 years with a 7 second pb and David Boles a 3 second pb.

Session Two: Jack secured a third in the 15-16 yr age group final for the 200 Breast. Both David and Paddy advanced to the 400m Freestylel 13-14 years final this evening. Paddy secured a 8th placing and David a 10th.

Final Day Saturday we had David and Paddy swim the 1500. What great personal best times posted. Paddy Baylis dropped his time by 6 second to secure 6th in the 14 years age group and David Boles dropped his time by 10 seconds and secured 10th place. Jack Weston was our final swimmer for the meet swimming the 100 Free in a slight personal best time.
That concludes the 2014 Swimming New Zealand Short Course Champs for 2014.
